| 1720 kaufte der bregenzer Barockbaumeister Franz Anton Beer (1688 - 1749) von der Stadt Bregenz einen Bauplatz an der Kornmarktstraße. In 1720 the baroque master-builder Franz Anton Beer (1688-1749) bought from Bregenz, his native city, a building lot facing the Kronmarktstraße. Beer built there his very own city residence, nowadays known as the "Kornmesser".
The inn "Kornmesser" stands in the heart of Bregenz and was completely renovated some years ago. The guests' room was restored to its original condition from the 18th century and its side room's style was matched to it. The upper floor offers the wonderful parlour with its adjacent terrace and a gorgeous view of Lake Constance.
The beer garden and its typical Bavarian atmosphere presents themselves renewed, though the ancient chestnut trees keep rustling like in old times.
The menu offers traditional inn cookery as well as modern and light dishes. |
